Schrodinger abhored to the Copenhagen explaination for quantum mechanics because he believed that wave function describles the state of substance but merely probability for particle appearing!
Nevertheless,he constructed an idea experiment to present a absurd story resulting from the Copenhagen explaination,which is so called "Schrodinger's cat.
The story is as fallows:
There is a box in which a cat stays .There is also some radioactive substance in the box which would emit a radioactive out particle randomly，and this firings a hammer which breaks up a glass box so that some poison gases released out of it and kill the cat.
Since the launch of radioactive particle happens randomly,it can be describled by wave function.However,before the radioactive particle is been observed the wave function is not collapsed into eigen terms,So the state of particle would be any describled by any eigen term.Since there are some eigens term describle the emitting state of particle and others otherwise,this means cat is alive and at the sametime is dead!
Because of we can not say particle is in any eigen state or is not in any eigen state,so we can not say the cat is alive or dead.
This situation violates formal logic yet.According to formal logic there must be only one is ture,alive or dead.we can not say which one is ture in this situation .
We can only say that the cat is alive and dead at the sametime without observing particle's state!
